One of the 3 focus areas of Kiwanis International is Education and Literacy. Sunbury Big Walnut does so in a few ways:
Our Key Club conducts a Buddy Reading program throughout the school year.
Our Builders Club holds a book collection with books being redistributed through our events and our libraries.
Supported Girl Scouts with their reading rock garden at the Sunbury Library.
Kiwanis has built and regularly stocks Little Free Libraries in the following locations: Sonshine Preschool at 250 Rainbow Ave; Miller Park on Walnut St. in Galena; Playground at Sunbury United Methodist 100 W. Cherry St.
